Storytime makes learning fun! Storytime introduces young children to books, rhymes, music, and other literacy-based activities.

1st and 3rd Tuesdays
Read with Elliot at The Muskogee Public Library
Pick out your favorite library book or bring your favorite from home and practice reading to Elliot, who is the Youth Volunteer Corps service dog.
 
Elliot is a fantastic listener and loves to listen to readers of all ages! Prereaders, beginning readers, readers looking to strengthen their read-aloud skills, or even dog lovers are all welcome.

Looking for a fun and creative way to spend your Wednesday afternoons? Join us every Wednesday from 4–5 PM for WOW! Wednesdays, an exciting afterschool program for kids ages 5–12.
 
Each week features a different hands-on activity including LEGO building, crafting, cooking, STEM exploration, and wild card surprises.
 
Bring your creativity, curiosity, and friends — there’s always something new to discover at the library!

Calling all builders and explorers!
Join us in the Makerspace on the first Thursday night of each month for Minecraft Night, a fun, creative gaming event where kids and teens can build and create together in Minecraft.

Each session, we'll explore a new title, discuss stories and artwork, and learn about the process behind creating comics—from character design and storytelling to panels and pacing.
 
Whether you're a reader, artist, or just curious, this is your place to connect with fellow fans, share your ideas, and even start creating your own comics. Come for the books, stay for the creativity—and be part of a fun, welcoming community!

Staying Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)

Staying Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)
Please ensure you complete the essential paperwork provided for this event. If you have any questions or need clarification, we encourage you to contact us. SAIL is a fitness program for older adults, which can be done sitting or standing.
 
Performing exercise that improves strength, balance, and fitness is critical for staying active and reducing the risk or falls.
 
The SAIL program was designed with these principals in mind. Each class includes warm-up, stretching, cardio, balance, and strengthening exercises, as well as a cool down period.

Maker Space Makes: Felt Valentines
Join us in discovering how to create a box stitch keychain with plastic lacing.
 
This activity is a wonderful opportunity to enhance dexterity skills while having a great time making a unique piece of stitching art.
 
Please take a moment to fill out the quick survey form on the registration page for your child, specifying which two colors they would like to use for this project.
 
If the survey is not filled out, your child will receive randomly chosen colors, and we will not alter the color if it does not meet their satisfaction.

Great Decisions: Trump Tariffs and the Future of the World Economy
Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. The program model involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing book, watching the video series, and meeting in a discussion group to talk about the most critical global issues facing America today. Each year, eight topics are chosen by a panel of experts.
 
Trump’s aggressive trade and tariff policies have shaken global economic norms. What’s the rationale behind this radical shift in economic policy, and what are the implications for multilateral trade and geopolitics

Ag in the Classroom
OSU Extension, Muskogee County 4-H present Ag in the Classroom.
 
They will be presenting agriculture -related activities and information while reinforcing multiple subject areas. Great for K-6 afterschool or Homeschool children.

Guest Storytime with Children's Author: Tasia C. Taylor
​About the Author:
Tasia C. Taylor is a young author, bio and adoptive mother, Christian speaker and teacher!
 
After graduating from Van Buren High School, Tasia attended Arkansas Tech University and finished her degree in Elementary Education.
 
In the past four years since graduation, Tasia has published her debut novel, Finding Freedom, adopted three teenagers through foster care, worked as a Kindergarten Teacher and served at her church, First Baptist Church of Dardanelle. 
 
Other recently published children's books: Ice Cream Disaster, Made With Love, Splash Pad Fiasco and Christmas Chaos!
 
She will be debuting her latest book Robby's New Backpack, which will be released in the middle of January 2026.
